About Us

Who is D. A. P. A.

The D.A.P.A. Impact is a grassroots nonprofit organization based in Compton, California. We serve as a criminal justice advocacy training hub for justice-involved individuals, their families, and churches.

This organization was founded on the fight for fair and equitable sentencing for men and women of color. Specifically, we advocate for Black Americans to receive the same consideration for rehabilitation and mitigation of unjust, draconian life sentences—just as their white counterparts, who are systemically seen as redeemable, are granted leniency and pardons from harsh sentencing.

What we Do

We provide pre-trial and post-sentencing advocacy training to prevent unjust sentencing and support family reunification for those impacted by unfair sentences. Our training equips individuals with legal knowledge, empowering them to become effective advocates for themselves or their loved ones.

Additionally, we assist churches in establishing prison ministries tailored to the needs of their congregations and communities. These ministries focus on advocacy, spiritual support for families, and reentry assistance through referrals and resources.
